With thousands of green willow trees around, the theme park in Hedong District of Linyi City is a charming spring attraction. Locals bring their families there for a walk, enjoying the leisure atmosphere and the recreational events in the park. Some people simply set up a tent for their own activities. Adults chat and bath in the warm spring sunlight, while children play joyfully around. “Spring flowers are blooming beautifully. When the whole family came here to camp and enjoy the holiday time by the Yihe River, I felt immediately that my mood was getting better,” Xu Yao, a local citizen said, looking refreshed.
April is a beautiful and lush month along the east bank of the Yihe River. In 2023, Hedong District carried out some urban greening projects by building 5 large parks and 47 mini parks. The successful project became a model and was promoted throughout the whole province. “Push the window and see the green” has become a new life standard for the locals.
Hedong District has in recent years made much effort to strengthen the cultural tourism and to build up the tourism brand of “Hospitality Shandong vs Quality Hedong”. “Langya Ancient City, Hot Spring Kangyang and Longyuan” has become a classic tourist route at the east bank of Yihe River. As of now, there are 22 green spaces in the shared urban park in the district, allowing the locals to embrace mother nature and enjoy green life.
Meanwhile, Hedong District has set up a provincial tourist resort, 9 national tourist scenic spots, among which 2 national 4A tourist scenic spots. There is a five-star tourist hotel, plus Shandong Golden Star cultural theme hotel as well as the five-star hot-spring hotel. Integrating food, lodging, travel, entertainment and shopping, the local tourism industry system is being well established.
